ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS  - NEW BOOK RECEIVED

Fresh from the press, the book “Threads of Identity: Preserving Palestinian Costume and Heritage,” authored by Widad Kamel Kawar has just been recently published this year 2011.

We acknowledge with thanks this precious book donated by George Al Ama.

This informative, exquisitely prepared book of 449 pages speaks graphically and metaphorically of “threads of identity” profiling Palestinian women whose life history and work are intricately woven in the creation of beautifully-created and embroidered Palestinian dresses, thus preserving their cultural heritage.

Come to the Turathuna Center to read more, and page through a compilation of lovely costumes identified with time and regional origins.

وصل حديثا الى المكتبة كتاب "خيوط الهوية: المحافظة على الزي والتراث الفلسطيني". للكاتبة وداد كامل قعوار، نشر سنة 2011.

استلمنا هذا الكتاب القيم من السيد جورج الاعمى الذي تبرع به مشكورا.

يحتوي هذا الكتاب الزاخر بالمعلومات والمعد بشكل رائع على 449 صفحة  تتحدث مجازا وبالرسم والصورة عن " خيوط الهوية" وتعطي لمحة عن المرأة الفلسطينية من خلال تاريخها وعملها اللذين هما عبارة عن نسيج متداخل ساهم في خلق ابداعات التطريز على الثياب الفلسطينية وبالتالي حفظ التراث الثقافي الفلسطيني.
